Fuel Spray Test Stands

Leamount fuel spray test stands are designed to test the flow and spray characteristics of gas turbine fuel nozzle components and complete assemblies. Tests are normally specified at set pressure conditions, but may also be performed at set flow conditions. Nozzles often incorporate Pilot and Main circuits which require testing individually and also under combined conditions. Testing is also normally required with and without air assist flows or full airflow.
In addition dynamic leak tests are often specified. The test stand can perform all these tests with a high degree of automation.
Key features include:
- Highest quality materials - Swagelok stainless steel valves and tubing
- Integrated Bund
- Dual flow channels with individual pressure control and flow measurement
- Flow measurement by Coriolis meters with full traceable calibration
- Automated pressure control
- Automated valves
- Automated test cycles
Other Key features include:
- Boost Pump with full flow output through heat exchanger and low pressure filter to main pump with excess boost pump flow returned to main. This ensures continuous cooling and filtration of tank fluid at all times.
- Main pump output high pressure filtration
- External chiller with adjustable set point - option
- Automatic spray angle measurement - option
- Automatic multi segment (typically 12) fuel distribution (patternation) measurement - option
- Alternative manual probe angle measurement - option
- Alternative manual radial distribution to measure ‘hollow’ spray cone characteristics - option
- In situ calibration
- Master calibration nozzle set - option
- Tooling and fixtures
- Test chamber condensing fume extraction filter with drain back into chamber to conserve fluid - option
